King George County Department of Emergency Services

FIREFIGHTER / EMT - Enhanced, Intermediate or Paramedic

Starting Salary: $33,895 / ALS-Tech I $39,318 / ALS-Tech II $41,318 Based on certifications, qualifications and Experience.

The King George County Department of Emergency Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill Full-Time twenty-four hour (24/7) and/or ten hour (10/4) Firefighter / EMT-Enhanced, Intermediate or Paramedic vacancies. 

PREREQUISITES:

Applicants must be 18 years of age

Valid Drivers License

Emergency Vehicle Operators Course

Certified as an Emergency Medical Technician or higher

(*Must obtain EMT-Enhanced at minimum within one year of hire)

Current CPR certification

Firefighter II

(*Non Firefighter Certified Applicants may apply for consideration, but would be required to obtain Firefighter II within one year of hire)

*Preference given for field experience, and current ACLS, BTLS and PALS certifications

The Department of Emergency Services is a rapidly growing organization, looking for highly motivated individuals.  Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance.  Virginia Retirement System and optional 457 retirement plan.  Twenty-four hour shift differential. Departmental training provided and career advancement encouraged.  Eligible applicants must successfully complete physical agility testing, written examination, oral interview process, medical screening and drug test.
