KING GEORGE PARKS AND RECREATION
King George Parks and Recreation cares deeply about the health of our community, participants, and employees and we are keeping a close eye on the development, science, and all information available on the spread of COVID-19. Our intention is not to overreact from a position of undue fear or alarm, and we want to be pro-active and be response to help in any way we can. With that in mind the following changes will go into effect beginning Monday, March 16, 2020.
In conjunction with the closing of King George County Public Schools, we will be suspending all Parks and Recreation programs and rentals held with the school buildings for a minimum of two weeks. The includes the Schools, Vo-Tec, and School Board Building.
Programs and rentals at the King George Citizens Center and Quonset Hut (OKGES Gym) will be suspended starting Monday, March 16, 2020 until Monday, March 30, 2020. The KG Citizens Center will be open to receive customers Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, during this time.
All organized KGP&R athletics and those partners using our fields will suspend practices and games until Monday, March 30, 2020 unless extended further by their governing body.
