One-story detached structures used as tool or storage sheds exceeding 256 sq ft require a Building and Zoning Permit.
In reviewing these plans, if any requirements are overlooked, then it does not relieve the builder of his obligation to comply with the code. All work shall comply with 2021 Virginia residential code.
Storage Sheds Mounted on Skids
The skids shall rest fully on firm stable ground or a bed of gravel. The skids are not to be blocked up on piers. The shed shall be anchored to the ground. Typical anchoring systems include screw-in augers with straps bolted to the skids or walls.
