Community Oriented CPR/First-Aid/AED (Single Provider) Course

  • Prerequisites: Ages 14-100, f younger please ask. (NO CHILD CARE PROVIDED)
  • Registration: Contact our CPR Coordinator by Email to Register.  Please include your Full Name (First, MI, Last Name), Telephone Number, and Email Address. Certification Cards will be emailed to their EMAIL ADDRESS upon completion of the class.  If you are unable to attend, please contact the CPR Coordinator. If there are any changes to the class schedule, the CPR Coordinator will contact you at the information provided as soon as possible.
  • Description: (Bring a sack lunch and possible snacks - long day!) Class starts at 0800 promptly, should end between 1530 and 1630 depending on the students. All materials provided by KGFR. There are frequent breaks but no formal lunch time - eating during class is allowed. All dates are Saturdays - generally meeting in Training Room 1. (Minimum number of Students: 3, Max of 9)

    ASHI CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination training was created to allow instructors an easy option for their students seeking a comprehensive training class. The program helps develop basic first aid knowledge, skills, and the confidence to respond. CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid combination training is an excellent choice for both the community and workplace setting, and conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR, ECC, and First Aid.

    This class is intended for Individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers but desire or are required to be certified in basic emergency medical care, including certification in CPR and the use of an AED.


BLS (Two Rescuer CPR for Professionals, renewal or original Cert - Required for to complete the Volunteer Ticket to Ride, Probational Workbook, and Operational Status, by many businesses, Nurses and most health care providers

  • Description: Basic Life Support (BLS) This expert-level program helps keep healthcare professionals prepared and ready to respond as they encounter life-threatening emergencies, provide basic life support and respond to choking incidents. ASHI’s Basic Life Support, BLS for Healthcare Providers and Professional Rescuers conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC. It has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). The program is also CAPCE approved and widely accepted in more than 150 healthcare-related occupations. This program is designed for individuals in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have professional-level basic life support training.


First Aid/CPR Course(s) that are available upon request.

We can optionally offer the following classes to the community (with adequate notice - minimum of 30 days or minimum of 60 days for Wilderness FA):

  • Baby Sitting Class

This is a 16 hour class. The first day is the Community Oriented CPR/FA/AED class, the second day is Baby Sitting oriented - basic care, safety, and information toward taking care of typical (not special needs or health challenged children). Additional Cost of $25 per student. (Minimum number of students: 4)

  • Pet (Dog and Cat) First Aid

This is a 4-6 hour class discussing basic injury and wound care, CPR, Rescue Breathing for both Cats and Dogs. Additional Cost of $25 per student. Minimal Hands On unless our Co service dog preferred to using student owned animals. (Minimum number of students: 4)

  • Wilderness First Aid

This is a 16 hour class where the first day is the Community Oriented CPR/FA/AED with more hands-on skills, and a second day with a short hike dealing with "patients who've been mulaged or made-up to look like typical "wilderness" injuries. This class has additional cost of $100 and requires 5-10 additional staff for the second day as "patients" (preferably EMTs) (Minimum number of students: 6)

Driver Pumper Operator

  • Date/Time: Starts October 12, 2019 @ 0800Hrs (See attached Flyer/Schedule)
  • Location: Company 1 - Fire/Rescue Headquarters, 8122 Kings HWY, King George, VA 22485
  • Prerequisites:
  1. Current Firefighter I certification which meets/exceeds one or more of the following accreditations: - Virginia Department of Fire Programs (VDFP)
    - National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualification (NBFSPQ)
    - International Fire Service Accreditation Congress (IFSAC)
    - AND -
  2. Virginia Department of Fire Programs’ recognition/certificate for Hazardous Materials Operations training certificate which meets or exceeds one or more of the following:
    a. Virginia Department of Fire Programs training in Hazardous Materials Operations
    b. Virginia Department of Emergency Management as a Hazardous Materials Technician -OR- Specialist
    - AND -
  3. Virginia Department of Fire Programs current Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate Course class three (3) minimum. Possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license.
    - Minimum of 18 years of age on the first day of class.

VDFP Fire Instructor 1
