King George Parks & Recreation is proud to partner with King George County Schools to offer students meaningful workforce development opportunities. Through our programs, students gain real-world experience, develop professional skills, and explore career paths in parks, recreation, event management, and athletics.

Teen Job & Internship Fair

KGHS Students

Looking for a part-time or a summer job? Connect with local employers and explore job and internship opportunities! Whether you are looking for your first job, a summer position, or an internship to improve your resume, this fair will showcase local businesses to students. Parents are welcome and encouraged to attend with their teens.

Are you looking for reliable employees with energy and enthusiasm? Connect with KGHS students actively seeking employment and build your talent pipeline! Save time and money with face-to-face meetings to fill multiple positions. You'll meet teens who have completed pre-event workshops on professionalism and interview skills and are motivated to gain real-world experience.

Landing Your First Job: Skills For Success

Get ready for the job fair and beyond! These FREE workshops will help you build the skills you need to stand out to employers and succeed in your job search. Highly recommended for students who have NOT taken Economics and Personal Finance at King George High School. Workshop Topics Include:
  • Creating a strong resume and cover letter
  • Interview skill and what employers look for
  • Professional communication and workplace etiquette
  • How to apply for jobs online and in person
  • Dressing for success and making a good first impression

Two sessions will be offered before the Job Fair on February 21st. They will take place at the King George Citizens Center located at 8076 Kings Highway. Dates and times to be announced.

Presented by King George Parks & Recreation, King George High School, and Rappahannock Goodwill

Gain hands-on experience working alongside Parks & Recreation professionals! Our work-based learning program, supported by a Workforce Development Grant from the National Recreation and Park Association, provides paid positions for King George High School students.

About the Program

In partnership with King George County Schools, we offer real-world work experience in various departments, including parks maintenance, program coordination, athletics, and special events. Students develop professional skills while contributing to our community.

2025 Success: We hired 8 King George High School students who gained valuable experience across our departments.

2026 Opportunities

Students can work in the following areas:

  • Parks: Maintenance, beautification, and facility operations
  • Programming: Assisting with summer camps and recreational programs
  • Athletics: Supporting youth sports leagues and tournaments
  • Special Events: Helping plan and execute community events

Teen Entrepreneurship Program: Custom Embroidery & Apparel

Interested in starting your own business? Our new entrepreneurship program will teach students the ins and outs of running a custom embroidery and apparel business.

  • Financial management and pricing
  • Order fulfillment and quality control
